GENERAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Local Committee (Interview Required)

​

Join one of our local committees to make a significant impact on the Vancouver Chamber Music Society and your community. Committee members attend two to three 1-hour remote meetings annually to brainstorm and execute their outreach ideas with the support of the VCMS Board of Directors and staff.

​

Tech Assistant (South Delta Baptist Church Only)

​

Are you tech-savvy or interested in learning about audiovisual systems? We have the perfect role for you. Join us as a Tech Assistant at South Delta Baptist Church, operating Pro Presenter slides and lights as needed. Training will be provided. Your support will ensure that our events run smoothly and provide an exceptional experience for all attendees.

Postering

​

Help VCMS spread the word about our upcoming events by sharing our eye-catching posters in your community. Your enthusiasm can play a crucial role in attracting attendees and making each concert exciting for all.

​

Usher

​

Are you friendly and organized? Ushers assist Front-of-House staff with greeting audiences, distributing programmes, directing audiences to their seats, and occasionally handling cash sales of CDs or other merchandise.

​

Host an Artist (Interview Required)

​

Get the unique opportunity to engage with artists from diverse backgrounds and create lasting memories. 

​

Artist Aides (interviewed position)
 

• Provide transportation for guest artists as required (to and from the airport, from hotels to rehearsals and concerts, etc.) AND/OR

• House out-of-town artists for a specified duration around concert dates

• Artist Aides must have a good driving history and a clean vehicle in excellent condition. Volunteers must also meet minimum insurance requirements and be able to carry luggage for guest artists.

Outreach Committee (minimum one-year commitment)

​

• Develop new outreach strategies that expands audience and impact

• Provide public relations support and feedback on efforts to promote VCMS in various communities, particularly non-English speaking minorities

• Invite feedback and input from local communities

• Attend four meetings per year (temporarily online)
